The brief for this intervention involved the refurbishment and expansion of the reception and meeting rooms of the headquarters for Portuguese construction company BEC – Braga Equipamentos de Construção. Working closely with the company’s production team, and looking to showcase their proficiency in stone and wood working, the proposed spaces focus on natural materials with discrete yet refined detailing.
From the exterior, the expansion assumes the shape of an irregular Cor-ten steel polygon, with vertical slats along the façade allowing for natural lighting and views to the outside.
