The opportunity arose to design a cutting edge dental clinic - the Brighton Implant Clinic – housing a specialized surgery area with general anaesthetic equipment, a dental prosthetics lab and specialized imaging equipment.

The brief called for the refurbishing of an old Victorian building, built in solid brick, in Brighton, UK, composed of a basement and four floors above ground. The reception and waiting area are located on the ground floor. On the upper floors there are four surgery areas, administrative areas, staff room and patient recovery lounge.

From an architectural standpoint, the space was designed taking into account the philosophy of modern odontology. We created a space that can transmit confidence while distancing itself from common references associated with clinical environments. Although trying to remain discrete, we also wanted to create a space capable of being memorable to the patient visiting the clinic. The sculptural effect of the bent metal blades overlapping the bare brick background, and the resulting movement and rhythm, gives the reception its character and visual impact.
